Decision Stands
The letter states:
Dear Ms. Jardine,
I refer to your letter of July 8, 2002, directed to Barbara Murphy, Deputy Police Complaint Commissioner.
I have reviewed your complaint and the Investigative Report of Inspector #660 J. Eldridge, l/c, Internal Investigative Section, Vancouver Police Department.
As I do not have a compelling reason, recognized by law, for reconsidering the decision of the former Police Complaint Commissioner, his decision to confirm the summary dismissal of your complaint stands.
On completion of the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the disappearance of persons from the downtown Eastside of Vancouver, this office will consider ordering a Public Hearing or making a recommendation to the Solicitor General to hold a public inquiry.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Casson, Q.C. (AB)
Acting Police Complaint Commissioner
cc. Chief Constable Jamie Graham
Vancouver Police Department
